Frequently asked questions
Practical answers for advertisers buying XML/CPC on xmlcpc.com.
What is xmlcpc?
xmlcpc is a self-serve XML/CPC marketplace for advertisers. You fund a balance, set bids with line items or a real-time bidder, and compete for organic publisher click opportunities. Minimum CPC is $0.25.
What is the minimum bid?
The floor is $0.25 USD per click. Bids below $0.25 are rejected. New accounts default to a standing bid of $0.25. You need enough funded balance to cover your bid.
What are line items?
Line items are manual campaigns: keywords, categories, countries, a bid (≥ $0.25), and an optional click URL. Empty targeting matches all for that dimension. Create and edit them on Campaigns after you sign in.
XML/RTB vs standing bid — which should I use?
Standing bids and line items are the simple path: set targeting and a CPC in the UI. XML/RTB is optional — register an HTTPS endpoint that receives BidRequest XML and returns BidResponse (or NoBid) within the latency SLA. Most advertisers start with line items.
How do I top up?
Sign in, open Top up, and pay with Stripe Checkout. Funds credit your balance after payment completes. Losers are never billed — only settled wins deduct CPC from balance.
What does reporting show?
Reporting tracks spend, wins, funded top-ups, and performance over day/week/month (or a custom range). The same numbers are available from the dashboard and the account report API.
What is tmax / the bidder SLA?
For XML/RTB, BidRequest includes tmaxMs. Your endpoint must respond in under 150ms with BidResponse or NoBid. Slow or unreachable endpoints miss the auction.
How does authentication work?
Register to receive an advertiser ID and API secret (shown once and emailed). Log in with those credentials; the browser keeps an HttpOnly session cookie. API calls use X-Advertiser-Id + X-Api-Secret (or Bearer). Lost a key? Use the lost-key recovery flow.
Who can join?
Open access for advertisers — no exclusive minimum monthly spend gate. Top up what you need, bid from $0.25, and scale with clear reporting.
